そんな長濱監督が、アニメでも、おなじ絵を静止画でずっと流しているものと、おなじ絵でも何枚も動画撮影をするのとでは全然違う、というのである。

たとえば、『新世紀エヴァンゲリオン』でも、エヴァがカヲルの体を手に収めて、殺すか殺さないか葛藤して、50秒ほど全くおなじ絵で止っているシーンがある。 しかし、厳密に言えば、あのシーンとて、静止画で流しているわけではなくて、動画で撮影している。 そしてなぜか、人間の体というものは、その動画として撮影されたおなじ絵を見て、「あ、エヴァのなかでシンジが葛藤している」と感じることができるのだ、というのだ。 これは静止画では伝わらないなにかがあるそうなのだ。
